KHFM Benefit Concert featuring Anne-Marie McDermott

About KHFM Classical Public Radio

KHFM is New Mexico’s only dedicated classical music station, broadcasting and streaming 24/7. Founded by two Highland High School teachers in Albuquerque in November 1954 as a hobby, KHFM has now been on the air for more than seventy years. In 2017, KHFM became a listener-supported 501(c)(3) public radio station. Today, individual supporters provide over half our income and our signal reaches Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Albuquerque with translators in Taos, Ruidoso, and Roswell. With more than 60 partnerships with arts organizations statewide, KHFM is a central hub for New Mexico’s arts community.

Our mission is simple: to provide access to classical music for New Mexican audiences and beyond, without cost, on-air, online, and on stage. Three values guide us: Diversity, Accessibility, and Community. Our music reflects all the voices that make classical music extraordinary. We believe classical music is for everyone, without barriers. We honor our New Mexico roots and value local artistry. And we work to build a healthy ecosystem that fosters collaboration, sustainability, and visibility for classical music and the visual arts.

In 2024, KHFM launched the 10 at 10, a monthly live concert series featuring local artists and arts organizations. Each concert is performed before a live audience and broadcast live to thousands of listeners in New Mexico and beyond. The series celebrates New Mexican artistry, from the Santa Fe Opera to the rising stars of the future in the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Programs.

Each season ends with a Finale and Benefit Concert that raises funds for KHFM and the next 10 at 10 series. This year, we feature pianist Anne-Marie McDermott. Called “one of the most dazzling American pianists of her generation,” she has performed in hundreds of cities across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her concertos, recitals, and chamber music draw glowing reviews worldwide.

Don’t miss this virtuoso on Friday, November 20, in the Robertson & Sons Violin Shop recital hall. A reception follows with hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a chance to meet your favorite hosts and Anne-Marie.

This concert is made possible in part by Robertson & Sons Violin Shop, Susan’s Fine Wine and Spirits, Rumor Brewing, Chicky’s Coffee in Bernalillo, and the Mind the Gap Fund.
