Environmental Investigation and Cleanup

Welcome to the New Mexico Army National Guard’s Environmental Investigation and Cleanup Program for the Santa Fe Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). Our mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of the Santa Fe community by conducting thorough environmental investigations and implementing effective cleanup activities, particularly concerning per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). We are committed to transparency, community involvement, and regulatory compliance throughout every phase of our environmental response actions.

At the heart of our program is a dedication to keeping the public informed and engaged. We maintain a comprehensive Administrative Record at the Santa Fe Public Library, Southside Branch, where citizens can access technical reports, fact sheets, and other essential documents related to our ongoing environmental work. This ensures that all interested parties have the information they need to understand the scope and progress of our efforts at the Santa Fe AASF.

We also invite local residents to participate in our Restoration Advisory Board (RAB), a community group designed to foster open dialogue between the public, regulatory agencies, and the Army National Guard. The RAB provides a valuable forum for exchanging information, sharing updates, and voicing community concerns about environmental cleanup projects. While the RAB does not make policy decisions, it plays a crucial role in ensuring that community perspectives are heard and considered throughout the remediation process.
